Creek crossings and network of roads for OHVs, lots of camping. The first part of this trail follows a valley floor, winding back and forth across a rocky creek. The second half climbs out of the valley and crosses flat forest land. The flat area has many fun side roads to explore and plenty of camp spots for camping. Makes a great weekend getaway for ATVs, UTVs and dirt bikes. This trail can be combined in a sequence with Kelly Flats and Bald Mountain Road. Located in Roosevelt National Forest. Rocky, muddy and washed out in places, but nothing overwhelmingly difficult.

State Park charges a fee to enter. Most passenger vehicles can travel the first mile to the car parking area or the Ruby Jewel Yurt. 4X4's can continue for another two miles where the route dead-ends at the Ruby Jewel Trailhead. Dispersed vehicle camping is permitted.

Great area for ATVs and UTVs with plenty of parking at the start.
Check out this 6.00 mile, loop trail near Georgetown, Colorado. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 3 h 22 min to complete. A fun loop with several side roads to explore. Trail is open to motorized traffic June 15 through Nov. 15. Broad views from top of mountain. Parking along Highway 103 near start of trail. Before or after you drive this trail, consider a trip to Echo Lake and Mt. Evans, just another 2.5 miles past the trailhead on Hwy. 103. Fun area for ATV's and UTV's with many side roads to explore. High Point 10,300 ft. Much of this trail is easy; however, there is one steep, rocky spot that is borderline difficult.

SEASONAL CLOSURE: There is a gate at the trailhead that seasonally closes the trail to vehicular traffic. When the gate is open, this trail is open to off-road driving.

The Switzerland Trail in the peaks west of Boulder was named for the spectacular mountain scenery along this remote and former railroad route. With a trail length of 4.3 miles, begin your adventure at either end. In the south, the trail starts below the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain, from here it winds along a relatively level grade, gradually descending to Fourmile Canyon Drive (US 118), along Fourmile Creek, where it crosses the road and begins a gradual ascent back up the mountain on its way toward Gold Hill. Parking is available at the Sugarloaf Mountain Road trailhead.
